Answering your questions about GPSR
Feb 11, 2025
The GPSR came into force at the end of 2024 and for many small businesses owners across the world, it came as a surprise. Whilst the legislation bringing the changes into effect had been enacted some 18 months prior there hadn't been an awful lot shared and promoted about being GPSR compliant.
Here at RepGuardia we're receiving a high volume of emails from people asking a lot of similar questions from queries about understanding what needs to go into a Technical File, to labelling requirements for GPSR and also whether it's necessary to have a recall protocol in place.
We've put together some FAQs to support you:
-
Where can I find out more about RepGuardia's services? You can find out more about our services and subscribe to our EU Authorised Representative Service here.
-
I need support creating the Technical File, do you offer that service? When you subscribe to our service you get access to templates to assist you in preparing the documentation for your Technical File, you're not on your own.
Once you've submitted your documentation using the templates we provide, we'll come back to you if we require any further information or updates based on what you've provided.
Please note while we can support you by answering any questions you may have on GPSR, at present we do not provide in-house consultancy services to prepare the documentation for you. Our service provides you with comprehensive templates to complete; if these are filled in correctly and fully you'll be ready for full representation. -
Are there any additional labelling requirements to comply with GPSR?Yes. You will need to comply with the GPSR labelling requirements set out in Article 9.
These include requirements to provide information about type, batch, serial number and any other identifying information including relevant warnings and details of your Authorised Representative.
If you choose to go with RepGuardia as your EU Authorised Representative, we will provide templates and guidance on making updates to your labels. -
Does the GPSR apply now or is there a transition period? The transition period has already expired. The GPSR came into effect on 13th December 2024.
-
Can you provide a training or presentation on GPSR?Yes, we'd love to. Our ethos is one of empowering small businesses by sharing the information that they need in a concise and easy to navigate way.
Lucy Wheeler, lawyer and founder of Lucy Legal templates for business, can provide a tailored training for your company or representative body to your members explaining exactly what they need to do to stay GPSR compliant and how RepGuardia can help.
We are currently booking training sessions from the end of April 2025 onwards. Email us contact @ repguardia.com to find out more and get booked in.
